2019 Event Date: Saturday 4th May
We were delighted to have world record beating ultra endurance athlete, Mark Beaumont, with us for the Tayside Challenge last year. Mark is not able to join us in 2019, but here is what he says about the event:
’The Tayside Challenge is without comparison the friendliest and most scenic sportive that I have taken part in. Following roads that I know so well during my training for cycling around the World, including the epic climb of the Amulree Pass and the sweeping descent of the Sma Glen. But best of all is the people – the volunteers and the camaraderie of fellow riders, all of which makes the Tayside Challenge a must-experience ride.’
You can join us on 4thMay by entering here.
The Tayside Challenge gives a choice of 81 mile or 46 mile routes. The 46 mile route is not exactly for beginners but may be a great warm up for bigger challenges to come as the year goes on. The 81 mile route is challenging but offers some truly spectacular views. Both routes start and finish at Pitcairngreen.
This great charity Sportive is organised by Perth Kinnoull Rotary Club working in partnership with Malawi Fruits. We are offering a memorable and enjoyable cycling challenge in some of Scotland’s best scenery while raising funds to support local Perthshire charities and international charities including Malawi Fruits who are bringing help and hope to some of the world’s poorest communities in Africa and to those suffering from natural and man-made disasters.
