About Us

The Highland Perthshire Challenge was conceived by Alan Laverock, Eric Wagner and Kevin Simpson in 2011. The idea came about based on their own cycling experience, a love of the Highland Perthshire area and their personal commitment to helping some of the world’s poorest people. They have all been part of teams which have worked in Malawi over the last five years and they are now involved in a long term economic development project in that country.

We had two great events last year and are ready to do it all again in 2013.

The aim of both events is simple – have fun and tackle a considerable cycling challenge! The events also make a huge difference to the lives of people in developing countries by raising funds to support two charities who are bringing help and hope to some of the world’s poorest communities in Africa and to those suffering from natural and man-made disasters.
