Our three Sportif events came about based on the organisers own cycling experience, a love of the Highland Perthshire and Angus areas and their personal commitment to helping some of the world’s poorest people. They have all been part of teams which have worked in Malawi over the last ten years and they are now involved in a long term economic development project in that country.
The Highland Perthshire Challenge was launched in 2011 and has been a firm favourite with riders right from the start. Glorious scenery, memorable climbs and our friendly volunteers make it pretty special.
In 2013, the Cairn o’ Mount Challenge was introduced, giving riders another opportunity to experience some of the most stunning scenery whilst raising more valuable funds for charities who are bringing help and hope to some of the world’s poorest communities in Africa and to those suffering from natural and man-made disasters.
In 2015, we teamed up with Perth Kinnoull Rotary Club for the Tayside Challenge. The aim of all the events is simple – have fun and tackle a considerable cycling challenge! We raise over £15,000 per year for the work of Malawi Fruits and a further £4000 is distributed to local charities by the Rotary Club.
