At this time of year I start to see a lot of articles talking about where the money goes in charity sportifs.
We all ride for different reasons: I like to ride for the fun and challenge of it. But I also like to know that I am doing something useful and helpful. Bonus points!
So, when set up up our cycling events we designed them to run as cost effectively as possible, without effecting the quality of the event. At least £20 of the entry fee goes directly to our work in Malawi. As our events get bigger this amount increases as the core costs are covered.
I like to think we are making a pretty good job of it, but then I am probably biased! Fortunately I am not the only person to think we are doing a good job. Here is a link to a Guardian article on charity cycling events.
